The Spade's Southampton home was completely rebuilt and renovated by Webb Builders, Inc. in 2008. The sagging structure was supported by some masonry foundation sections, but mostly rotted locust posts. There had never been any heating system for the larger studio sections of the home. The renovation included shoring and leveling of the entire structure so a full basement with engineered beams and columns could be constructed. A dormer addition was built for the new kitchen and additional upstairs bedrooms. The roof and siding was replaced. The interior was mostly gutted and all original doors and windows were dismantled and refurbished. All new electric, plumbing, septic, HVAC, network and security systems were installed. Walls and ceilings were insulated. All important interior beams, trim and flooring was stripped and refinished. Many original lighting fixtures were refurbished and re-installed. All new cabinetry, counters and plumbing fixtures were installed. Then came the art...

Thanks for sharing -- I'd never seen these photos before. So cool it hurts. Here's a little video I love from a few years back of Andy giving a tour of the house: http://www.nowness.com/day/2011/6/23/1518/andy-spades-hamptons-manor

Love that video! So fun to watch again - thanks for the reminder :)

Wow. This is unbelievable! I guess we shouldn't expect anything less from this duo!

I'm gasping for air. My goodness, this space is so rich. I love every room.

Isn't it amazing?! Now I want to wallaper my little apartment in water lilies and stripes!
